Can't Gravity Bleed the Slave Cylinder

I have always been a big fan of gravity bleeding since I am on my own. I open the bleeder (which I think might be a speed bleeder by the way) and no fluid comes out.

I had no problem doing this on my old dsm and don't see why I am having a problem on my GVR4.

I waited about 5 minutes for fluid to come out and nothing came out. The clutch pedal feels like it should and disengages the clutch fine.

Any ideas what could be going on?

iv never bleed a clutch with-out a bleeder. I think the fluid is to thick to for gravity to draw it out.

I have never had an issue before. This is the first time ever. Don't know what gives this time around.

One man bleeders can be so cheap. I think Harbor Freight has one for $4 that works great for the task. Nice and small with a magnet on it too.

I'd bet that the entire system needs to be flushed clean - from master to slave...

Take the spigot out and clean it - prob plugged and dirty with sludge from the dirty fluid.

Disconnect the line attached to the master and blow the line out. Then run it through with clean fluid before you do the refill.

If it is in fact a speed bleeder on the slave cylinder, it wouldn't gravity bleed. It is a spring-loaded ball and seat inside of it. You would need to pump the pedal with the bleeder opened to have it bleed properly.

If it is not a speed bleeder, then I would disassemble and clean the entire clutch hydraulic system and service and rebuild the master and slave cylinders.
