Pulled out the transmission on my 97 eclipse and now I can't get the transmission back up in there 1) the jack wont go high enough.... 2) it seems as if you have to rotate the transmission up (where the axles go in at) to get it over the "webbing" that is used to support the rear part of the lower control arms and then rotate the transmission level by pushing the front part up. Its proven to be a challenge but I've done honda/acuras/mustangs before..so I'm not new to it just seeing if I'm missing something simple. I figure using a engine hoist would work wonders but where would you bolt the engine hoist chain to? Thinking about the using the bolts that hold the halves of the transmission together.

Thanks guys!

I raise mine up with the differential angled upwards, once the differential clears the k-member, I roll the transmission until the gearbox is just above the differential and shove a block of wood under it to keep it situated. Once the diff clears the k-member, it is just a bit of playing with it to get the first couple of bolts in.

i just replaced my trans this past winter. it takes some time you have to angle it adjust things and rotate it. it worked out for me because i had my father helping me so we where able to have one person hold it up and the other rotate it. keep at it you will get it in

using an engine hoist is the easiest. i bolted mine to where the tranny mount would bolt to. the best way would require 2 people, one to operate the hoist and one to be under the car adjusting the tranny into place, i always pointed the diff upwards until the tranny was close then rotated it back into the correct position
