I've been searching all over for the part highlighted below in a chrome/polished metal pipe with the rubber couplers. My 3kGT vr4 had one and it was called a y-pipe but that's because of how it looked. I, for the life of me, cannot find this part as a pipe for this car. Does it even exist? Got polished intake/IC pipes in the works for it, so it'd be nice to have this part match. The service manual calls it "intake hose C"...obviously that didn't come up in searches. 99 GST by the way.

If you are planning on going with a short route FMIC then save your money and get the kit that replaces all of those pipes. Punishment Racing and the VR-Speed Factory kits are both very nice and very affordable at around $300 each for a full short route FMIC kit.

Do they sell just the pipes? Cause I have a FMIC core already...

yea, I see Upper IC pipes in alot of places, but I wasn't sure if that was the same peice. Couldn't really make out the shape given the perspective most places pictured the upper IC pipes. Either way, thanks for the info folks, greatly appreciated. Now I just gotta figure out what the hell my turbo started doing yesterday. See here...Not sure about this problem...

You have a lot to research, my friend.

....and that is why I am here good sir :) I have a membership on forums for each of my cars.

Our cars aren't made to be vented to the atmosphere, the air you are venting is already metered by the MAS and now you are removing it without accounting for its loss, it will make you car run significantly worse all the time.

Thats good info, I hadn't taken performance into mind just asthetics. Are we talking like performance worse or idle worse? If performance, just how much of a loss? Cause if it's minimal then I might keep it b/c I prefer it over others (and cause I already have it)

You can keep running it if you like idle issues, stalling, and having to change your spark plugs every 2-3 months. Get yourself a intake, uicp, and a 1g bov and call it a day. You don't buy a turbo car for the sound, you buy it for the performance. Please do some research about your car before you kill it, thank you.

That almost sounds mean. WTF That's why I'm here...to learn...this IS the newbie forums. So, since you brought it up...what's so great about a 1g bov?

Id buy a piping kit and replace all the piping. Looks great and helps performance. Also you need to tune the car if your going to run open blow off valve.

Their cheap, easy to find and proven to work and not leak.

^^ All good points...

Now, I'm kinda liking the sound of this, other than the fact it's the more expensive option and so it'd take longer to complete cause I'd have to save up for the tune/piping kit. I was wondering if there were ways to make it work well. That stupid thing is like the ONLY asthetic peice I actually want. It's just so fun to blow off at people when I zip by... :tease:

Also...found where road race makes the upper IC pipe and then the ADDITIONAL upper IC pipe. It looks like they will only work together and still require a decent sized section of rubber hose to join them together. Not exactly what I'm looking for, but then maybe what I'm looking for doesn't actually exist for these cars... I'll keep looking, but if anyone needs a better idea of exactly what I'm looking for it's the "ADDITIONAL UIC pipe" that will go from the throttle body to the normal location of the UIC without more than 4" of silicone hose to join them.

Anyone know of other vendors besides RRE with that "additional" uic?
