cant find FTDI drivers for Vag Com 409.1

Ok so I have been trying to logg with evo scan for almost a week now, and with some patience I have finaly got evoscan/flash installed and ready to start logging. I got the Vag Com 409.1 cable to logg with for now, but I cant get it to work. I get an error from scan saying cable not responding. I have openport 1.3 selected and mutt3 selected.

When I plug in my cable to my comp, A window pops up saing found new hardware, and wants me to intall it. I go about this and click next, then it ask's to put in the cd it came with, or to browse for location. I was told not to use the disk that came with the cable. If I browse where am I looking?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I dont understand what I do whith them, do I save it then move the file to evoscan or something? Or do I try to open the cabble with it?

Do I have to install the cd that came with the Vag com cable. I was told I shuldn't, i ask because I am being told it cant be installed because windows cant find the necessary software.

Do I have to install software to run this cable?

I cant seem to find the answer, every post I read about this does not give an answer on how to solve it. Someone who runs this cable and has had this problem please help.

Ok well I was expecting to come back from vacation to see some more help/ things to try but I guess not.

No one buy this pice of ---- it doesnt work and their is no help to get it to work

Not sure what to say here.

But, that Installing the drivers Keiya posted should be fairly self explanatory... .

For an Example I just grabbed one I had sitting around and got it working (On a PC I don't use for this stuff) in just a few seconds... It's a simple USB to Serial driver that gets loaded... . (if you have the drivers on the PC they should load on there own (IF not simply point it to those files when it asks )when the cable is attached to the PC)

I'd like to note As I've had quite a few of these Cable threw my hands That people need to be specific in the problems they are having when trying to get things like this to work.

But lack of knowledge on how to describe a problem properly or lack of knowledge on how to setup something shouldn't be the bases of a review... I've had maybe one of the last 20 or so have an Issue and I think the cable just had a bad connection as it would just disconnect a lot.... . Some have issue with them just because where they Source them. But I'd say for as cheap as they come and the Software nobody should complain there are platforms out there that have nearly Zero Datalogging ability unlike us

That's what they are made for... But as you can see they work as well for JUST logging OBDII 2g Ecu's as well...

The late 97 onward are the quickes to be logged with these as they use MutIII protocol not MUToverOBDII like the older 2g ECU's

Actually VAG is short for Volkswagen Aktiengesellschaft or just Volkswagen AG.

AG is the abreviation for the German word for a "Corporation".

VAG includes Volkswagen, Audi, Porsche, Škoda, SEAT, Bentley, Lamborghini and Bugatti.

-Raffi <---- is also a Volkswagen guy

BTW, The Ros-Tech VagCom, now called VCDS, is a specialized OBD2 scanner that reads OBD2 data and decodes additional information that are Volkswagen & Audi specific... that said, it's still an OBD2 scanner so you can use it on any OBD2 car. Given the cost I wouldn't recommend non-Volkswagen owners from buying one.
