I just replaced my broken 14b with a "new" one from a local parts car as well as my transmission, clutch, and intercooler.
I left the downpipe unbolted from the o2 housing, i wanted to note this first to possibly save some reading below.
Anyways, i go out for the initial test drive, drive around for a few miles, come back to make sure there's no leaks after a normal drive.. everything looks great. (still not a single drop of anything after sitting in the garage overnight every night, amazing for a 212k original bottom end DSM)
so anyways, i took my boost controller off and hooked the vaccum hose straight from outlet pipe on the turbo to the wastegate, go out, wam 20psi... played with the wastegate for a while, nothing would fix it
so, i swapped my old wastegate on, 1st gear doesn't get far past 10 psi, every other gear still pretty much just goes way past 15 pretty quickly.
I haven't put my DP back on because the gasket was toast and i was just gonna wait to pick up another one and annoy neighbors in the mean time..
Any ideas would be appreciated. i didn't think running open o2 would cause this problem, but other than that i'm fairly stumped. I dont want to toast another turbo (or worse) anytime soon.
