ok heres the deal. im not new to the whole nt/turbo deal but im having major tuning issues. i know an afc tunes off the map and missing link helps eliminate that. i was told you cant use both but ive seen other people using both.the problem is i have both already installed and dont really wanna mess with a fcd or other devices.i just wanna tune my car and be done.can this be done or is there a way to modify it to be done.please help.thanks

Yes, you can, but the gains will be minimal. The S-AFC is most effective when the stock MAP sensor signal is unmodified. So... generally speaking, you'd be better off with no S-AFC at all.

yeah thats what i was afraid of.what do u mean by minimal though.u dont think id be able to free up some hp from tuning the fuel in.also what way would there be to work around it.could i just tune the afc without the missing link in and then install the missing link later.or would u need that in first to tune.also if i did decide to do the fcd would that solve my problem or does that also mess with the map.thanks

SAFC alters computer readings from the MAP sensor, allowing you to add/remove fuel at different times. Missing link bleeds off positive pressure from the intake manifold, so that the MAP sensor doesn't send a higher voltage signal to the ECU causing it to freak, and cut fuel. Basically the Missing link alters signals that the ECU needs to be true to get the best tune with SAFC. Even with an untampered with MAP sensor reading, SAFC really isn't that beneficial to us 420a guys. Especially compared to results seen from it on other motors.

Just forget the SAFC. When you have more money, go with Megasquirt to tune. Until then no tune will be fine.
