Can you convert a fwd auto to awd?

I Have a 90 talon awd 5 speed and I'm on the look for a auto. Now there is a fwd auto at the scrap yard and I was wondering if it could be coverted to awd?
I haven't seen what a fwd case looks like so I have no clue

That would be a big fat no. The cases are totally different along with the internals.

They are not the same transmission, so no. When someone converts to AWD they swap out the transmission and have to get a transfer case, the drive shafts, carrier bearing, rear differential and CV axles along with other important components.

Aside from the obvious fact that you cant put the parts from an Auto in A 5spd case or vice versa

Also to add to that Any Fwd Trans you have isnt going to have a place For the center dif or Vc

So a big fat NO

Also I'm pretty sure that AWD was not available in the automatic.

That was a mistake and could not get back online fast enough to fix it. I was thinking of the Plymouth lasers option package.

I wasn't thinking of putting auto parts in a manual. I was wondering if the fwd auto case was the same as the awd auto case. thanks again

Isn't it impossible to convert a 1g anyways... Well at least without a lot of fab work unlike the 2g.

You have to cut out where the spare tire goes as the Gas tanks go in different places for starters if thats what you mean.

...might as well change out the floor pan for the conversion...

FWD was an F4A33 and the AWD is an W4A33 ... bit of a difference in cases..
