Can someone tell me what sensor this is?

I was working on the car and found this sensor in the engine bay behind the engine just laying there. Anybody have an idea of what it is?

Assuming there's only one prong like the pictures show (and the other one hasn't snapped off), the smart money says that it's for one of the idiot lights on the dashboard. However it doesn't look like either the oil pressure or coolant temp idiot light sensors, so I'm a bit stumped...

It's a IPS (Idle Position Sensor) found on all 1g's it is unused on 2g's so don't worry about it. What was it connected to though?

This is the 4th time I have seen this pop up this week does anybody know how to use the Search button?
Yes it's a Idle switch and there on all 90-94 turbo throttle bodys

Scroll down alittle and you will see where it goes on a 1g TB

Its on the NON turbo 1g's too. Cause I have a 1g NT throttle body and it has one as well.

If your car is turbo then the TB may have been modified to use one..IDK I beleave that only turbo cars had them but I've only worked on a few N/t Dsm's and never realy thought to look so I may be wrong... .

I got the throttle body off a stock 1g NT and installed it myself on my 6 bolt before I put the engine in my car. I like them cause they don't have that restrictive elbow. I just left this idle switch on the throttle body dissconnected. That is why a lot of people with a 6 bolt swap in a 2g will have this extra switch laying around unused. Among other sensors/switches that are not used.
