This guy is selling a 94' TSI AWD on craigslist and I called him up and talked to him about it. The guy bought the car fully modded and he doesn't know shit about it. All he knows is that it goes fast. He says that it was fully built by a local performance shop. If anyone has seen it before or knows whos it was I would really like to talk to them. All help is appreciated. Thanks

First off, This thread was started over 3 months ago and dsmkid said the guy was going to put it up for auction "next week" so it's probably long gone by now so all these new threads are probably pointless (I know even mine) but because the thread is still alive, might as well keep helping. First off (as stated before) that's definately not a 94. To even do a 1gb to 1ga conversion would require a 1ga front fascia, headlights, whole parking light assembly across the front, quarter panels, core support, headlights, wiring, hood, 1ga rear bumper cover, tail lights, and even the wing looks like the one that extends all the way to the doors which only came on the 1ga (I believe early 90). That's way too much for it to be worth the trouble. Also that's not necessarily a MHI turbo or a 14b. There are a lot of turbos that are not Mitsubishi Heavy Industries that are Mitsu flanged. It does however look like a Mitsu style compressor outlet but the compressor outlet is the same for the 13b (which came on the autos), 14b, 16g, big 16g, EVOIII 16g, EVOIII GT, even 18Gs and 20Gs, ebay knock offs and a few others. It's almost impossible to tell exactly which turbo it is just by the compressor outlet. It looks to have some good stuff. GReddy type RS, FP exhaust mani, 2g MAF conversion, possible DSMlink (which means he probably has nicely sized injectors) nice looking AFPR, pretty nice looking FMIC piping, nice wheels . . . a lot of those parts aren't cheap. It looks like whoever did the work spent some money so it's a good bet he upgraded from a stock 14b. The engine bay's clean but you can't tell anything from that because a lot of people clean the hell out of that stuff before they sell it. Keep in mind almost any used car (especially DSMs) you buy is bound to have it's gremlins so you have to expect that regardless. I know the car's not close but if it's close enough to take a weekend to drive over and test drive it, do it. If not you could go back and forth on it forever. That being said, if I were you and if it's still available and you obviously know more than he does, I'd try to get him to come down on the price seeing as how it's at least 2 years older than he said. If the price is right I' d buy the hell out of it.
