So are you asking about using an external WG or the difference between O2 housings?

You can use an external with a stock style O2 housing, but it will have to come off one of the runners or from the collector. You will also need to weld shut the stock Wg passage hole.

As far as the what O2 housing they should both fit up and work fine. Some people have problems getting the EVO O2 to mount to certain DP, but nothing a bit of a "massage" can fix.

If your wategate is on the manifold, it'll work fine. If it's on the o2 housing, you'd be better off with a tubular o2 housing than trying to rig it to work. As for the differences between an EVO and stock, the EVO is already about 2.5" all the way through, you'd have to hog out the stock casting to the extreme to get even close. The EVO outlet flange is clocked slightly differently though, so your DP may not line up perfectly. It'll usually fit with some twisting of the flexpipe and cursing, although it tends to push the flex into the t-case on AWD cars. With the selection and pricing of tubular housings these days, the EVO doesn't make as much sense as it used to.
