Hello, i am finally getting around to swapping out the generic 40mm clone i have on my setup (which is blown) to a Authentic Tial 40mm gate.

the package contains the Gate, and 2 rings, one big and one small, after some research I have established the larger ring fits into the Inlet side of the gate, but doesnt seat flush (called the valve seat?)

RRE claims the tial 40mm uses no gaskets, so Am i supposed to just stick the ring in there, and tighten it down, assuming it will push the Piston In and create a Tight seal?

and what of the smaller ring, the Outlet side has to space to insert it like the inlet side did.

The knockoff on there now, uses gaskets to mount.

Thanks.
Adam

Edit: the Flanges on Tialsport.com Have a identical Lip machined into them, to accomodate the Lower of the valve seat? since my flanges dont have this, should i just use the gaskets I am using on the knockoff, and leave out the valve seat?

hey ####face i just took my tial 40mm wastegate apart for your ass and you go to bed... anyway the valve seat does NOT sit flush on the flange side.. it sticks out a little... which is odd but hey thats how it goes..
by the way... GOD-DAMN THE SPRING IS HUGE INSIDE THE TOP PART.. MY SHIT WENT FLYING EVERYWHERE...

also if anyone knows... how the hell do you put it all back together? i have the blue large spring and its a BIG MOTHERHUCKER. i cant even imagine putting it back together by myself.. anyone know how to install springs in a tial 40mm wastegate? LOL

hey pax i can take pics of my valve seat for you holler at me.

I use a drill press.
Put it between the chuck and the table, press it together, lock the drill press, and bolt it together. You can also use a large vice. Just put some wood under the seat or you will mar it.

so... does the Valve seat press in flush when the unit is bolted to the flange, or does it stay sticking out alittle.

My seat sticks out about 1/16.
It seals the wg (no gaskets needed) aginst the flange.
I have the older (non hp or v-band ) tial 40mm.
I am not sure about the smaller ring I don't remember having that
but it's been a long time..

dude i have like 10 thousand pictures i took. I got the wastegate put back together. i had my dad push the lid down while i got screws started LOL

anyway paxface i got pics for you im gonna go get them off the camera and post them on here i'll make them small for you since you're on slow-up.

the valve seat is like a ring seal on the flat flange .. like 90% of the flange the wastegate is bolting to is NOT used to seal. only a small ring area around the opening where the valve seat sits on. it seals though...

ok, my question, again.....

does the bolting force SHOVE the Ring the last 10% Into the wastegate, against the plunger, to create the seal.
