Can i use 75w90 for transmission?

No store around me sells the specified 75w85 gear oil for my transmition. The dealership says it will take 5-6 business days, and will cost $47 a quart with a minimum order of 3 quarts!(almost $150)WTF
Every performance shop around me has both synthetic and non synthetic 75w90 for $8 a quart. Can i use 75w90 in my transaxle?

I've got Redline MT-90 in my tranny. Definitely made a difference after I pulled out some nasty stock oil in shifting.

I once got bored with some money that was burning a hole in my pocket... switched out my Redline MT-90 to Redline MTL... I like it better

well I'm sure mitsubishi has something.... should cost less (compared to what you pay for stuff ) over there

Maybe they don't use the GL ratings? try some FWD toyota/honda oil or just call mitsubishi

also try to find out who sells redline

Called Mitsubishi and they said they only sell GL4-5 here and put that in their cars. Went to 3 stores and saw just one GL-4 rated oil which was the cheapest oil of the bunch and which I wouldn't be so comfortable putting in my engine. The rest were all GL-5. There was some Redline but it was GL-5 and was $35 a quart
