Hey everyone I'm looking into some cheap power that won't affect the regular daily drivability of my car, and I've concluded that the easiest method would be using nitrous. But I have some concerns:
I'm using a s-afc currently with an average of -24% to -30% correction, and I'm worried this is adding too much timing to safely use nitrous. Though I only want to run a 35-50 shot. So, would a 35-50 wet shot be safe?
Mods are: 190lph, fmic, 14b, 3" exhaust, 650's, safc, wideband other supporting mods.(profile is current I believe)
Also while under wot afr's are very safe: 10-11's

Also I've used nitrous before so install and operation aren't a problem.

Thanks,
Eric

Cliff notes: Is using nitrous (no more than 50 wet shot) with a -24 to -30% correction with s-afc safe when used with suppoting mods and rich afr's?

You're best bet is to upgrade your fuel pump. 255 will work great. The nitrous system will be adding the extra fuel so you will need it. But other then that you should be fine. The engine won't last too long with a 50 shot if its older, not because it will blow up but because of excessive blow by.

Thanks for the info. Engine has about 15k on rebuild so I'm not too concerned.
Also the nitrous would only be used for the track, or weekends. Maybe a bottle every few months at most, so nothing major.

You will need to have a second fuel map setup for the nitrous because it will be fuel hungry from what I have read. Also you will want something to pull timing during the nitrous. With the SAFC correction and stock timing map you are asking for trouble.

If you guys haven't used nitrous with a turbo car, STFU. You aren't helping answer his question, and basically wasting bandwidth. Running a wet shot with our cars using the recommended fuel jets usually ends up in a VERY rich afr. Our cars are already tuned rich from the factory, then our FPR's increase fuel on a 1:1 rate with boost. Nitrous actually increases boost levels, so you are getting even MORE fuel.

Get a wideband, drop the 650's for some 550s for now so your AFC corrections aren't so crazy. Then, when you plan on using the nitrous, drop timing 2* for every 50shot you plan on using. Suggest you only do this at the track where you can change your base timing.

how much is a 35-50 shot gonna help him?

not enough to avoid hearing "ask any racer, any REAL racer, whether you win by an inch or a mile, winnings winning." and "now me and the mad scientist gotta tear apart the block to replace the piston rings you just fried" and a crowd of idiotic posers going "OOOOHHH"

And since you Fast and Furious wannabe's have NO clue, I'll answer this question for you. I've personally tuned a DSM that had an off-the-shelf T3/T4 60 trim, 50 shot DRY (installed horribly wrong spraying BEFORE the FMIC) and it went from 397hp to 496hp AT THE WHEELS! So, AKIRA, you tell me. Is 99whp on a little dry 50 shot worth installing a nitrous kit?

Bar none, nitrous is THE easiest way to increase hp. There isn't another argument remotely close that can touch nitrous' bang for the buck factor. Most power increasing parts have about a 10:1 ratio, $ to hp. Nitrous, especially when bought used, can be as cheap as 2:1, and you can ALWAYS increase the HP levels, while never increasing your INITIAL cost (of course the actual nitrous oxide does add in, but then you can argue cost race fuel, etc).
