can i put a 2ga cas on a 2gb?

I have a 7 bolt engine that's from a 2gb and is missing the cas, I also have a 7 bolt engine that came from a 2ga, and the cam angle sensors on a diffrent place, on the 2gb its on the left side of the camshaft, on the 2ga its on the right, goes right on the cam gear, is there a wire I can put in that will allow me to hook up the 2ga cas to the 2gb wire location, let me know if anyone has done this or knows of that wire or how its done thanks

Just wire them up. It is a straight forward.

But, you need to swap wire plugs, 1 to 2 and 3 to 4.

But I still have the same crank angle sensor hooked up tho, will that mess with the spark plugs tho?

No.

You still have to switch the spark wires, because your cas is inverted.
2ga and 2gb has a different rotation.
Unless you use a 1g cas, Then you don't need to swap wires nor need of the crank sensor.

Yes you can. Just cut and connect the right wires. Here's some RRE instructions.

Or you can just buy a harness that is already made to make your bay look prettier . I bought one for my swap.

Hate to bring back a thread from the dead, but i figure its better than starting a whole new one.

I swapped a 96 7-bolt into a 98 7-bolt body/harness.

If im understanding this correctly, I need to cut the plug off the harness, cut the plug off the CAS (which is under the intake cam, right?), and splice the wires together.

And still swap firing order?

If you're using the 2ga cas you need to make an extension harness to reach the connector on the the 2gb. And yes you still have to swap order.

But my EPROM is a 95/96, so wouldn't the firing order stay to that year?

Also, the 97-99 CAS connector is different from the 95/96 CAS connector, so to it looks like ill be cutting both off and hard wiring it in.
