Can I fire up my car with out the tune first?

Alright I have a couple questions. First here's what I've just installed on my car.

::Walbro 255 and re-wired it, a FP 18G, GT Manifold, custom o2 pipe, 680 injectors, and a FPR.

I've got crower 272 cams and skunk 2 cam gears but Im not trusting myself to those yet so Im having AMS do those, where Im also going to have the car dyno-tuned. Do you guys think I would be able to just fire up the car and let it idle for a bit to make sure I've got everything hunky-dory before I hand it over and end up get charged a bunch of money because they had to redo something at the shop? Also, Im pretty sure Ive got my re-wire done right, but i didnt have very good directions.. So if I do fire up my car and the fuel pump isnt working will it hurt the motor or just die? Kinda dumb questions but I just want to get everything right the first time... Thanks for any info.

What are you using to tune your car??

Right now I have a MAF-T but Im also trying to get a SAFC-II....

Of course you'd want to turn the car to see if the parts you installed working. If the fuel pump wasn't hooked up right then, wouldn't the car just starve for food then die?

I wouldnt suggest actually driving the car like on a normal basis for a lot of different reasons. One it ###### running really rich and the timing could be way off. Sometimes its better to safe than sorry.

OP, as long as the MAFT or SAFC base is set to 680s, you can start the car as long as you have a logger for monitoring. Remember, the most important preparation for tuning is a thorough boost leak test.

I can testify for checking for boost leaks before tuning. My car had just been dyno tuned before I bought it. It had a really bad boost leak aroung the bov. They also failed to calibrate the MAF-T. I am having to completely retune now becuase of little things like that which could have been done prior to the dyno. I just calibrated my MAF-T. From what I have read, it is ok to drive with the MAF-T calibrated as long as you have your fuel dialed in correctly and don't go WOT.
