Can I check codes on Tunerstein w/ the car off?

Ok, I dunno if I can or can't do this, I was hoping I could considering it's like 10 degrees and the car won't start.


Can I check the error codes using Tunerstein when the car is turned on but not running?


I downloaded this from a link but I didn't see a read me or how-to on it.

I've been having the exact same dilemma.....I've been able to get it working successfully using both Technomotive on my laptop and MMCd on my Palm, but I've never gotten Tunerstein or Palm'nstein to do much of anything at all.......Maybe someone will have the answer...If not, you could always try one of the other logger programs....

I've never used tunerstein, but on my friends GTP he has three logging programs and all three have worked without the car actually running, just the key in the on position. I have read that Tunerstein is a tricky program that doesn't neccesarily work right the first time http://208.186.78.102/forums/showthread.php?t=56292.

If you can't get it working and you're using a PDA to log, I would suggest trying MMCD(another free logging program) you can download it from http://umn.dl.sourceforge.net/sourceforge/mmcdlogger/mmcd-1.5d.zip

Tunerstein is a tricky program but more than tricky its picky. On my bro's Pontiac gtp it works great. It dosen't work at all on my girlfriend's grand am and on my eclipse it crashes the labtop so who knows. Granted my labtop I have for logging isn't the greatest.
