1) I was wondering if bad turbo seals can be causing my car not to spool until 4800rpm? I will be at like 1-2 psi WOT and i wont get boost until all the sudden at 4800rpm it will quickly hit 15psi. I AM burning a ton of oil, but also have just a few drops on the ground in the garage.

2) Can bad turbo seals cause oil to leak onto the ground?

3) Can bad turbo seals cause oil to be in my coolant bottle?

4) Also, can this possibly be causing my car to overheat at idle? I have a Fluidyne and brand new FAL shrouded cooling fans hooked up to where both fans are on at all times. When i am at IDle for 10 min, it will overheat. When i start driving, it will quickly go down to normal. Could bad turbo seals cause this? I have all good cooling equipment, so im wondering if turbo seals could cause this as well.

Does everyone agree with the reply, ^ ?

The only other question is, can the turbo seals being bad, or bad turbo in general, be causing me to smell exhaust fumes coming through my AC vents at idle? I am pretty sure i dont have an exhaust leak from anywhere else that i can find. Thanks for the inputs.

The headgasket is brand new with brand new heads, machined, leak tested and all. I originally thought the head bolts had worked themselves loose, but i took it back to Satan and they said the head bolts were fine. They are torqued with ARP head studs.

I was also thiking of getting a new oil cooler when i get this new turbo, just for good measure. I have the one that can get crushed, causing oil in coolant. I read some about changing it to air cooled but i dont know exactly what to get. There were so many threads on people using different coolers with different fittings etc. Thanks again for the help.

What could have cause my EVO III turbo to get leaking seals after only about 7,000 miles? Simply low oil, or are there other things that could have caused this premature wear? I had 6 bent valves on my old heads, could this have cause the turbo to go out early as well?

1. was it a rebuilt turbo or a brand new one?

2. how many pounds of boost did you run on it / how was the car driven.

3.i highly doubt bent valves would have anything to do with the turbo going out so soon.
