can a awd exhaust fit a fwd car

the reason im asking is i took my car to tuffy, and whoever had my car before hacked up the exhaust and deleted the cat. So they said by law they cant work on it, unless they put on a cat and in the end i will be paying up to 1200-1500 dollars. I said hahahaahahaha NO! All i see are exhaust for AWD i was looking to spend low like 200-300 dollars, so i was wondering if i can put a AWD exhaust on my FWD car.

Any shop that doesn't want to get fined by the EPA. If the car came stock with a cat, it has to leave their shop with a cat.

Get a 3" magnaflow cat ~$70
Have them make your exhaust so it's a slip fit style (I really like mine. No more rusted bolts and leaky gaskets. I have SS exhaust clamps.)
Have them make you a test pipe that's the same length as the cat so that you can just drop the cat-back yourself and slip the test pipe in.

Then, if you ever have to do any type of emissions crap, or get a fix-it ticket, you can just slip the cat on.

FWD exhausts are all over also. They are different setups. It's mainly just the bends that are for the gas tank. I think the dp is slightly differnt too, but I'm not sure.

tuffys for one , i almost got canned when i worked there for doing it .... then they found out it was my car

like said above, no AWD exhaust will fit in a FW, just check on Ebay or the classified on here, you might be able to get a used one or even a new one pretty cheap

I got one for my friends GST for 65 bucks, only used for like 1500 miles

An awd has a more straight path it follows, a fwd has a mountain like course it follows.

New factory cats are very expensive especially for newer cars. I'd never pay that much for a cat. If you must have a cat, it'll be good to get one from a junkyard or from somebody selling one.

I had an awd exhaust on my FWD eclipse(92). It was jank, but It fit. Looked like crap though. It came with the car and I never bothered to fix it. .

how did that work? the exhuast on my 1g FWD runs straight down the hollow tunnel which houses the driveshaft on an AWD

Do yourself a favor... stick one of these on your car when you re-do your exhaust. It'll keep the smog Nazi's off your back while sticking it to the hippies at the same time.

Surprisingly the whole time I had that car I never bottomed out the exhaust. . I agree whoever did that was an idiot. I sold the car just like that too. .

You do not need a whole new exhaust to put on a catalytic converter.
