2G Can’t get codes with OBD2 scanners

Hello i am having some trouble reading codes from my 96 Eclipse. I have worked at several shops and don’t seem to find any ODB2 readers that work on my car except for a 4000 dollar Bosch scanner that read very basic codes, 2 years ago.

I'm wondering what type of scanner I should buy. Preferably with some tech that can read live data, and more. Preferably not to expensive either. Live in EU so there is no Autozones that can read out codes for me either Thanks

Do you know the part number of your ECU. Your profile suggests this is a EU 2G NA with a 4G63 but need to be sure. It's not clear when the EU versions got OBD II support or EOBD and there is little documentation here in the US on the details.

Yes it has obd2, not sure what ecu number would be but i can check and let you know but i think they would be pretty close anyways
