Hey Everyone!

I recently pulled my front calipers up and swapped the pads. When I put them back I noticed the drivers side pad does not touch the rotor and upon pressing the brakes the caliper shifts a little. The passenger side pad however is always in contact with the rotor and does not shift at all when applying the brakes.

The guide pins are torqued down and I'm not sure what the problem could be. Is this a piston problem?

Thanks

Try cleaning and lubing the guide pins and the housing. I use brake cleaner and a bore brush myself. You're probably seeing the outer part of the caliper moving. Inner part with the piston is solid and can't move.

It doesnt move at all. I think it may be a piston issue because I didnt have to compress the piston at all on the drivers side to slide it over the pads, but on the passenger side I did.

Thats what I was thinking. I was on Rockauto just now but Ive had some fitment issues with them before so I'm not exactly sure which caliper I should go for from their list. Any insight?

I just replaced mine with the centric unloaded calipers. Fit perfectly fine. Just make sure you put in the correct car information. The only ones I could think may be a problem would be the early 95 rear with vented rotors.

I have a 90 so it'll be a bit different. Anyone order calipers for a 1g from rockauto with any recommendations?

A brake upgrade would be quite over my budget right now unfortunately: (

I bought I think a tps from them for a 90 laser I had and ended up not needed it. They took it back no questions asked and then sent me a coupon. No idea on the caliper though sorry; just wanted to inform you that returns aren't a hassle.
