I have to do my brakes here pretty soon and I was thinking, rather than fight with rusty old gear that has already seized on me before, maybe I should investigate some cheap replacements. This will also allow me to paint them nicely (dying to do silver) and hopefully end up with a lasting product.

eBay was a bust but RockAuto has "Centric" brand calipers for like $36 ea. Does anyone have any experience with this brand or know anything at all about them? Is centric lesser than BeckArnley? Other way around? Same shit different pile?
I'm also interested in other solutions, the goal being longevity and cheap.
Thanks.

Going cheap means the risk of bent slider pins in a new caliper - annoying to say the least. However, the last pair of OEM fronts arrived in a bright silvery finish instead of the standard Mitsu Olive Drab finsh, and finished off the upgrade by providing one bent slider pin in each !

Either that Mitsu dealership sold $30 Autozones as OEM, or Mitsu now sources their rebuilds from Autozone. *grrrrrrrrrr*
