My Check engine light comes on when ever i hit a bump real hard any one have any ideals? Also if i slam my hood while my car is still running it almost stalls out? could these be related?

however when i shut my hood my car does change rpms.... it drops really low then back up really high then take a little while to settle.. i'm not sure why but its wierd...

Autozone, and get the code pulled, i know some cars store cel for a couple days evanif it is not on.

Look under your hood and see if there is a black mark where your battery terminal is... your positive battery terminal is hitting the hood. Let me guess, it shuts off around corners too? Or shall I say, resets?

Hey i checked it out there is a decent scratch in the paint where it would hit so im going to go with thats what the problem is thanks alot man!

I had this exact same problem before.

It was the terminal touching the hood. I had just bought new terminals, because the old ones sucked, and the new ones were a little taller.
