OKAY..PLEASE LISTEN TO MY SMALL STORY THEN DIAGNOSE THE ISSUE.. AND I NEED HELP FAST.. THIS IS MY DAILY DRIVER TO WORK AND IM KINDA SCREWED RIGHT NOW

I OWN A 99 Mits. Eclipse gs-t..

So I bought the car a week ago with a Apexi S-afc computer... EVERYTHING HAS BEEN RUNNING ALRIGHT SINCE THEN UNTIL TONIGHT..

me and my friend tried messing around with it/ changing s\saved defaults because my

car pops in and out up high rpms (but im pretty confident that its because i have a huge

exhaust leak before the turbooo) any how. so we start playing with stuff. and i remember

one of the settings under the select a vehicle option on this computer was set that the car

was a 2 cylinder? although the car was running regular.. we decided to change it to 4

cylinder.. and then mess around with a few other things that i cant remember.. from what

i do though.. that was the only thing that could have really made a difference... So i drive

for about a half-hour to a hour, and everything is running as usual.. then i get home..

shut the car off for fifteen minutes to change clothes.. then start it back up and it instantly

dies. so i start it again with my foot giving the throttle so it wont die, and the C.E.L. came

up.. then it like started running funky. it also lowered the rpms of my idle from about

950rpm to about 350rpm. Then i for some reason tried to drive it to see what the deal

was.. and it would cut in and out any time i took the car past 1500 rpm... like Baw BAW

BAW BAW BAW.. like head snapping, whip lash kinda ins and outs.. like it would cut

power, then give it, almost as if i was running out of fuel.. and then i went back home..

put the setting back to 2 cylinder for like 4 min.. and no change, then took the terminal

off the battery for around 15 min. and started back up with no change.. ANY HELP IS

GREATLY APPRECIATED, ESPECIALLY BECAUSE I AM A NEW DSM OWNER... HELP!

The safc probably has nothing to do with it. you may have a clogged fuel filter or missing a few teeth on the timing belt. I would check both of them first. Pull the two bolts out of the fuel line going into the rail, have someone turn the key on and if it squirts you in the face your good. Then line up your timing marks to make sure it is on.

Is the safc still set up on Karmen and not another setting? its been a while since I had mine, but I knew it would run horrible or not at all if set to something else.

okay.. hopefully this will help someone.. i decided maybe it was the s-afc.. then i undid the battery terminals for about 30 min, then i disconnected the s-afc.. amd i basically had idle surge, but the car didnt sound right, and at the low rpm side of the surging, it would almost wanna die as if the timing was off or sometihng.. i dunno please help.

How about you find out what code it is before you start throwing parts at it?
well i taked to one of my buddies, and he thinks that becasue me and my friend played around and changed some things on the s-afc tune, that once i started driving it was fine, but once i shut the car off, it probibly whiped and didnt save the tune(s) that i had before , and now i have a 16g, and other aftermarket parts on a stock tune,,
