a few weks ago i reported the my check engine light was on. i took it to be looked at and it turns out i needed a new solinoid. i got that fixed today, but i still have one of the probs i had before....when i go wot, the car stutters and air/popping noises start to occur (sounds like they are comming out the exhaust) it happens enough for me to barely be able to accel at all, so i have to let off the gas and accel that way... im stumped...i still can get to full boost w/o probs (such as in 1st gear and 2nd, 3rd and up tends to be a prob) so im guessing its not a boost leak...it just started happening after i got my exhaust (thermal w/ 3" dp and high flow cat) could this have something to do with it? backpressure? anything like that? please help!!!

The poping sound could possibly be a boost leak at the intake mani. I would do a boost leak test first to see if you can find anything. I have a really really bad intake mani gasket and still boosted up to full psi but it ran like crap.

Yes it could. A friend had the same problem on his 1st gen. Do you have an after mark. boost gauge and manual boost control? If not, you should really have them. Theres a good possibility that your over boosting.
Search around for a while, you'll find other mebers that have encountered the same problem.
