Im planning on buying a set of 17s and 2 of the rims have one brand and the other 2 have a different brand of tires but all the same size. Now ive searched and read but Im still confused because some say one thing and others say another. Now the tires hav different amount of thread depth left. The matching sets have same depth but varies from other set. Since Im awd will running these ruin my vc seeing that the thread depth is different or if its minimal difference I should be alright? Thanks for all the help guys

Using tired of a different brand is a massive no no on AWD vehicles. Even though they are the same size they are different to due to design and tread pattern. On top of that if they are different depths as you stated it just compounds the problem. Buy a new set of tires of a set that have been used on an AWD vehicle.

I think you misread his post, or skimmed the part about the same size tire in a different brand having a different diameter...

Fit matching tires. (also *wheels) [/end]
