I'm new here and I'm new to cars. I was wondering changing only the exhaust would be a good idea of my GST rather than changing the manifold, mid pipe, everything? What would be the best thing to do. What's a good exhaust for a 97 gst and where to buy it? :hmm: I just got the car a month ago.

like i tell every one that ask this.... if you want to save money... get a good muffler, one you like, and one that has good ratings and take if to a local muffler shop and have them weld 2.5" (or whatever you perfer) piping all the way back!!!
I just posted the exhaust i got for slow boy racing with pic on a different thread last night just look around!!

^^ I kinda disagree,
It would be easier to just get a ebay exhaust. Then if you don't like the sound of it you can change out the muffler.
And not to mention ebay exhaust are 3"

ok well i see the point there!
But what is the real difference between the ebay exhausts and a custom one from a local shop?

the fact you will be paying $150 more and have to wait for it to come in!! THEN if you dont like the sound spend more to take it to a shop and change it out!?!?!
And thats if you a well made one! its cheap cause they steal designs and cut corners!
i got a o2 housing w/dump off ebay and the welds... id say,... sucked!!

but ok if that floats you boat! Go for it!

I personal went to SBR and got one!! high priced..... kinda wish i went to a local shop!

thanks ;)

Yes, apparently you are new here, because there are a million threads about exhausts here. Pick the one you like, as everyone will have their own opinion. Ebay will be your cheapest.

get a 3" megan i love mine, and get a 3" megan down pipe that eliminates the cat with it!! thats a good set up
