OK here's the situation...I have a motor that burns a quart of oil every 300 miles. The number 2 cylinder is scuffed and the spark plug has excesive carbon build up and oil on the threads. So my guess is that cylinder is in bad shape. The car still has good compression so I'm driving it for the time being.

Here's the question...I was looking at getting a rebuilt short block from slowboy. I've done a head rebuild before but don't have the tools and know how to do the engine rebuild. Slowboy offers there stage I short blocks with different pistons but I don't know what the benefits there are to getting which pistons. They offer Ross 8.5:1, Wiseco 8.3:1, JE and Arias. This is a daily driver keep in mind.

Also any tips on things I should do since I'll have my motor out. Things I'm already doing are a full T-belt job, 3rd gen lifters and ARP studs this time around too.

Thanks in advance for any advice :thumb:

how much boost do you plan on running? For higher boost go with 8.3:1 for lower boost go with 8.5:1. If you still running oem turbo at normal boost i would get the 8.5:1. Dont know how much of a difference you will actually notice.
