Buying a 1g what to look for.

Hey guys im buying a 1g talon tsi with 130k on it and a 5 speed. He just had a major tune up, timing blet water pump. I was wondering what i should look for (problems) when i got to see this car. Thanks ps im a 2g owner so i dont know much about 1g.

Test drive the F%$# outta it. Run it hard and if there are any problems they will manafest. Compression checks and smooth shifting.

He said no grind at all in gears...164 164 162 162 was teh compression test....ARe these good numbers?

Seem very consistant which is always good. But as far as a good # i'm not 100% i've heard alot of different suggestions.

oh ya ill get it for the most at 2000 so hopefully i can get a lil off.? seem like a good deal..its in great shape

I paid 2100 for mine, w/ 108K on the clock. Everything is pretty much fine. It'll need the TB tuneup around 120K, so I'd say that's a good price. Mine has a few minor problems that have popped up, but I guess it comes w/ the territory.

What problems should i look for? Ne thing in specific i should ask about? What spots should i look for rust?
