Going to a ported 14b. Busted my oil return line. Now Im ordering the sbr 2g install kit w/ a new oil return line. Will that fit both the t-25 and the 14b or what? Little confused cause I remember something about someone drilling something out and cant find it.

The return line is ribbed to make it flexible enough to fit most applications. I could be wrong, but I think it should fit and work just fine.

Hope you didnt pay too much for it. 2g install kits are a damn gimmick, completly unneccessary. You could have fixed your return line (depending on where you broke it) with 2 hose clamps and some fuel hose from your local autoparts store.

this is an excuse to upgrade. So I am.

thats awesome. Im just saying you didnt need to purchase an expensive install kit. You probably coulda picked up a 16G for the additional cost of the install kit.

Install kit from sbr-199
Ported 14b from buddy-100.
Misc shit- oil, coolant, washers, gaskets- 50-75. 350-375 for the upgrade.

OK the oil feed line. Its a 12mm open end wrench I know. But the smaller part that screws into the bigger thing thats on that thing. Dont know the termonology for it, well its angled in there ie cross threaded. So how do I go about getting that out.

Ok on the 2g install kit the oil feed line doesnt screw into something like the stock line does. It screws onto something. Where can I get that? Here is the pic of the stock line and fitting bent, do i need to save the fitting and if so and this one is messed up where can I get a new one? stealership? Anyways. The line is 12mm and hte fitting is 3/4 but yet I cant find either one of those sizes LOL. Owned. Anyways here is a pic.

IIRC, it's actually suppose to be at a weird angle and appears cross threaded but really isnt. Take whatever the larger size nut is and just unscrew it from the oil filter housing(with the little one still in it). It will tweak the hardline and destroy it, but it's the easy way to take it off, and you will probably not ever need it now that you have an SS one.

The oil feed line I picked up from RRE had a 90 degree brass fitting that screwed into the oil filter housing, and the SS line screwed into that.

This info isn't really for you...but to save others from buying a 2G install kit...
used 16g - 250-350$, oil feed line 30-40$, 14B j-pipe 10$. Simply modifying your 2G stuff works just as well, IIRC that is all that is actually required to install a 14b style turbo to a 2G.

this is also a decent deal: 2g install kit 125$ +ship.

ok I thought that was cross threaded but whew glad its not. ON that link. Where in that kit or how would I be able to attach the oil feed line to the filter housing?

How do you assemble that return line?

the two flanges on the right, one bolts to the turbo, one to the pan, then the long brass male fitting screws into the flange on the turbo, the angeled silver one attaches to the flange at the pan, connect with hose clamps and the supplied tube.

The 1G return line is different from the 2G. Plenty of people have used the 2G line on 14b/16g turbos by drilling out the bolt holes, though.

so by a 1g return line?

I thought you already bought the kit?? If not, where is your oil return broken at?? When I installed my 60-1 the return line had something like that 2G kit i showed you, that it already had a silver slightly angeled male nipple on it, so i chopped off the top half of my stock return pipe and connected the two with a piece of hose and worm clamps... You may be able to do the same :)

Edit: the oil return line is not pressurized, so it doesnt have pressure on it to leak.
Edit#2: man sorry, i've been up since 5am. No need to buy the 2g install kit tho. all you really need are an oil feed line, maybe a few misc. gaskets, and a 14B j-pipe (assuming your still using the SMIC). And fixing your stock return line.

Here's some quick info from RRE's hacker/tweaker 2g turbo upgrade tips...

Tweaker Tips:

Re use the 2G oil drain pipe, just file the bolt holes closer together and use the 1G gasket to the turbo. Tape over the oil drain hole while you are filing, do not disconnect the pipe from the oil pan.

Re-use both of the water pipes. They just get bent a little. Put the front pipe on the rear and the rear pipe on the front. This is the way we do it here in the shop. The lower front water hose may need to be extended a little, 3/8" fuel line works well. The pipes will bend more than you would think possible. We bolt them to the turbo and insert a rod into the pipe to the end of the pipe and bend a little at a time. Nice and slow.

Use ant seize thread compound on everything. It will smoke a lot when you first start it and also when you first get it real hot.

In the turbochargers.com kit is there a nipple on the j-pipe to hook my mbc up to? I dont see one in the picture.

Well I really went the extra mile. Decided to go with the stainless steel return line. 100 bucks and the sbr 2g install kit with full lower intercooler pipes and ss feed line and all gaskets and bolts for 200. Found my turbo, ported 14b. Should add some nice top end to the 2g :)

I've got 272's in her as well :).When this turbo blows Ill go bigger, hopefully thats not anytime soon. Need alot of supporting mods.
