1st, read alot about the placing of the wideband sensor, if its inplace of the o2 it shorts its life, so question has anyone reported how many miles or anything about the sensor failing. basically if I place it there could I at least get 10-15k miles before replacing?

2. I just got into tuning my ecu, but where do you guys spend the most time tweaking? timing or afr?

3. I have a VRSF FMIC, if I was to upgrade in the future could it cool down a HX35 or FP green?

4. there is no E85 in my area, is there really any HP limits to 93 octane besides adjusting timing for no knock?

5. not going with SD but I really dont like the bulky mitsu/evo MAFs, would a 3" GM blow through config meet lets say a 500hp goal? I would only have the translator for translating not for tuning.....and not doing it for the bov sound.

6. why does STM hate brian crower cams? quoted from site
"We don't actually recommend these cams. We only sell them because, believe it or not, some people actually want them. They are cheap... but you get what you pay for. 90-99 DSM. "

7. I have a cracked windshield and the rubber around the edge is pretty well shot, where could I find a new weather stripping?

8. since I have openport 2.0 with ecuflash I can use any injectors right as long as they are dialed in? not that it matters but lets say 650 vs 950cc would I lose more gas or is it just best to get injectors that match my HP goals, remember not using E85.

9. are FIC the best injectors with the ball style vs pintle-style injectors?

10. now im just lazy for not searching but I want to upgrade my throttle body, is it the early 90's non-turbo TB that has a bigger opening?

much thanks to the people that replied, I get really bored at my factory job and just think of total random stuff for my car but no google/internet to answer my questions.

My thoughts in bold.

1st, read alot about the placing of the wideband sensor, if its inplace of the o2 it shorts its life, so question has anyone reported how many miles or anything about the sensor failing. basically if I place it there could I at least get 10-15k miles before replacing?

You can put the wideband sensor pretty much anywhere. It's recommended that you make a heat sink if you wish to put it in the front O2 location. You will also have to simulate narrowband which can be a PITA. I recommend putting the sensor somewhere in the downpipe before the flex section.

2. I just got into tuning my ecu, but where do you guys spend the most time tweaking? timing or afr?

You basically just want to be as lean as you can get without causing problems (knock, high EGT's, etc). Then increase timing as much as you can without knocking.

3. I have a VRSF FMIC, if I was to upgrade in the future could it cool down a HX35 or FP green?

The VRSF is a very good kit. Larger turbo's typically require less cooling since they are more efficient at the same power level. For example, a small 16g making 350hp is working very hard and in turn creating a hot air charge. A HX35 making 350hp will be under less "stress" due to it's compressor being more efficient. So as you upgrade, you will typically need less cooling than before.

4. there is no E85 in my area, is there really any HP limits to 93 octane besides adjusting timing for no knock?

It depends on the setup. I personally have hit a wall with 91 octane up here. 23psi and single digits of timing on a 16g is all I can get away with until I switch to E85. With a more efficient turbo I could surely get much more power on pump gas, but I enjoy the 16g.

5. not going with SD but I really dont like the bulky mitsu/evo MAFs, would a 3" GM blow through config meet lets say a 500hp goal? I would only have the translator for translating not for tuning.....and not doing it for the bov sound.

Yes, the GM MAF is good for 500hp. But so is the 2g MAF. If your going to do anything with the MAF, just get rid of it completely and run SD.

This is because BC cams do very little for engine performance compared to their competitors. Purely as an example, a BC 280 cam would give the same power gains as something like an HKS 264. The few extra bucks for a better brand of cam goes a long way for performance. I'd honestly rather run a Delta 272 regrind than a BC 272.

7. I have a cracked windshield and the rubber around the edge is pretty well shot, where could I find a new weather stripping?

Your typical windshield replacement company should be able to replace that along with the windshield. I would call them and ask before hand though.

8. since I have openport 2.0 with ecuflash I can use any injectors right as long as they are dialed in? not that it matters but lets say 650 vs 950cc would I lose more gas or is it just best to get injectors that match my HP goals, remember not using E85.

This has actually been a common thought lately. A larger fuel injector will not dump unnecessary amounts of fuel. If the injector is properly compensated for when tuning, it will be just as efficient as stock. The ECU is aiming for a specific A/F ratio and the rating of the injector is simply it's maximum abilities, not it's constant flow rate. However, I know many tuning systems have a limit of how large of an injector that it can compensate for, especially at idle. So I would go as big as you possibly can with your tuning system.

9. are FIC the best injectors with the ball style vs pintle-style injectors?

FIC's are very good injectors. I'm not sure what the best style is for longevity vs performance, but I honestly wouldn't worry about it. Just make sure to get low-impedance (aka Low-Z) or you will need to make modifications to the wiring.

10. now im just lazy for not searching but I want to upgrade my throttle body, is it the early 90's non-turbo TB that has a bigger opening?

Yes, the 1g NT throttle body is the largest stock throttle body to my knowledge.
