Hey guys, ive searched but couldnt find any good info.
My girlfriend just got an eclipse GS and it was previously turbocharged, the turbo has been removed.
It has a built engine with forged pistons and eagle rods 8.6 compression. Ive heard forged pistons arent the best thing to run on a street car, will this become a problem?
The fuel pump thats in it is a walbro 255, It seems to be running too rich as it will backfire sometimes (no cat) but the plugs indicate a lean condition? I'd like to know if a pump from my 2G turbo AWD will swap in and be more suitable for it? Or anyone wanna trade for a stock NT fuel pump?
The car seems to be running hotter then I think it should, I datalogged it and when the fan turned on it was about 215* the needle showed it not even half way on the temp gauge. The previous owner had removed the larger fan, and moved the smaller fan to the drivers side of the radiator to make room for the turbo, should i try to find the large stock fan? OR can I put the drivers side (a/c) fan from my turbo car on it?
Finally has anyone datalogged their 2gnt and if so can you tell me how hot/cold your car usually runs? THANKS
p.s. if anyone local to everett wa, wants to trade a 2.5" cat/catback for a stock setup let me know PM.
