I made a deal with someone 13 hours away. Real cool guy, now my question is will this thing be ok for the drive back? What kind of hp and gas mileage numbers would all expect? Thanks for any info on anything, especially from anyone that knows much about the fp red. thx

As long as it is good running condition I don't see why it couldn't make the trip. But at the same time it is a high performance car with lots done to it so it can break down at any time. Do you know anything about dsm's with lots of performance parts? Or anything about dsm's at all for that matter? The only reason I ask is because if something breaks down you might want to know something.

ive actually been thinking about doing the same thing that you're doing phunny. I've always wanted to build my car from the ground up but on the other hand this car, if built right is really fast and will probably last for quite some time if taken care of. I was looking at one in cali(im in denver) that was very nice but its quite a risk taking it cross country. I would maybe ask the owner if he would be willing to sign some kind of contract maybe to claim some sort of liability just in. I would want some insurance but hey you only live once WTH go for it. How many miles are on the rebuilt motor and tranny? Hope all goes well. From what you have listed it sounds like a really nice built car, go for it!!

The tranny has 250miles and was built by lancerman. Motor was just dynoed and put down 398whp with no boost controll or tuning. He said there was a slight knock so he pulled the motor and had new gaskets and everything redone. So it will have basically zero miles when I get it.

if u dont know that, i wouldnt really buy the car personally.

He's right, if you don't know what kind of numbers this built car is capable of, then you really should pass on it. You will be looking for builder to rebuild it after you blow it up in less than 3 months.
