I have a 6bolt block not sure if its off of a tsi or not. Also got a set of tsi Pistons and Rods. I have a friend who is upgrading his tsi so he is going to sell me his turbo with everything i need to directly bolt it up.

Currently I have a 92 eagle talon n/t.
Im not sure if myn is 5 or 6 bolt flywheel. Will the transmission reqire any mods to work with the 6bolt if myn isnt a 6. Im going to reuse the stock head what kind of cams do i need to get. Should i just put the tsi pistons in the car or should i put the new 6bolt block in with the tsi pistons. Also do i need to get a new ecu for the car.

So many choises i have no idea what to do.

You're definately gonna want to do some research on all of this before you even consider this task. Start out with the Newbie Forum on here and maybe the FAQ's... It seems you may have alot to learn, being there are only 6 and 7 bolt motors and no 5 bolt. Just tryin to help you out.

Once you figure out if the 6 bolt block you have is turbo or non, you might want to check these links out. General outline of how difficult this task is:

From what I've read from most people, its better to just find a cheap turbo 1G than to do a swap on a 1G N/T. But just what I've read, anything is possible though... :thumb:

I would suggest selling the NT car and find a turbo model, preferrably an AWD. Much less hassle and probably much cheaper. Just my opinion from engine changes in the past. Mark

I agree with Mark in getting rid of the N/T.....however I would first look for a 1g awd shell maybe with a blown motor and working tranny that is if you have a turbo 6 bolt block.

As for parts... it all depends on what you want to do. if you want to make a quick street/drag daily driver. In this months issue of Dsport Mag has a really good looking 1g that is pulling 10's all day long.

Ok here is the deal a buddy of myn has a turbo talon that he wrecked and hes got a 6bolt block in his garage so i can get the turbo for pretty much nuthing and im currently training to be an A&M and was looking foreward to a good challange. Just wanted some links or some info other than picking up a turbo talon for cheap.

Ok, this is my take.
The N/T manual trannies have a lower gear ratio (a good thing)
The Internals of the trans are the same (heavy duty- another good thing)

To run the Turbo motor in a N/T car, you need a few things.
a clutch, a Turbo fuel pump and to run 2 more wires for the ECU, one for the 7th MAS wire the second for the Knock sensor (the second knock sensor wire just goes to ground).
Then a Turbo ECU of the year of the engine, or else pin 6/14 may need to be swapped.

Physically, that is just about it besides the obvious stuff... engine, down pipe, IC kinda things. I was looking at doing exactly what your about to do untill I found this 90 TSi. That is why I chimed in and said what actually NEEDS to be done.
