Wow thats a big increase in base timing. What kind of ignition timing do you see?

I aim for about 26-28 degrees at 30-32 psi on C16. About 22 degrees on pump.

Would you expect to see similar timing for both the standard 2.4L and the long rod 2.4L or are those increases just because of the slightly better rod ratio?

The standard rod 2.4 wont take as much timing as the long rod. Plus, the pistons (Ross/Magnus) we run in the long rod setups are designed a little different with quench pads to help ward off detonation.

OH and the 3g eclipse 4g64's did the 180 like the evo's :D (they mount the other direction, belts on the passenger side)

If your going to build a 4g64 motor i believe the best thing to do (which i believe was already said) was to find the 92 (?) GS galant motor that had the DOHC head. Otherwise the SOHC galant/expo's etc will need some work to block the oil passages that the 4g63 head dosent have.

Our you can go with the 4g63 block w/ 4g64 crank forged pistons etc etc that was already explained in this thread.
