No noob but since I can only post in the newbie forums because of my post count, I will post this here.
I plan on building a 2.2 motor utilizing the g4cs block with the Eagle 94mm crank for my GVR4, and I want to do this right the first time. I've searched on this for about a month and have pm'd a few people and even spoke to Aaron at English racing. I'm not looking for 600+ horsepower I just want to try something different than the commen 2.0 and 2.3 build, IMO I think the 2.2 might be a great comprimise between the two.
I just need some clarification with the following:
G4CS (235mm deck height) unsure how much it needs to be bored yet but I assume just .020 over.
Eagle 94mm Crank + 156mm rods = 1.65 rod ratio
With the 156mm rods I would need a stroker piston that has the wrist pins moved -3mm, right?
Or
Eagle 94mm Crank + 159mm rod = 1.69 rod ratio
With the 159mm rods I would need a stroker piston with the wrist pin moved -6mm, right?
How much does the .04 increase of rod ratio matter?
Also, I want a 9.0:1 CR. So I'll be trying to get some 9.0:1 stroker pistons.
What size headgasket should I use?
I havent started buying parts yet. I'm in the planning stage of the build and will probably start soon (have a friend get the machine work done) and when I get home this spring I'll finish it off. I just want all my ducks in order before I go off doing a not so commen build.
If you have any recommendations or see any faults or want to add some insight/advice please do so. Thanks in advance.
