im picking up a 6 bolt motor for my 2 g today and i am going to start building it soon. just wanna know where i should start? im running a FP green turbo 272/272 hks cams to start with... i dont know if my better option is a stroker kit or not? car is mostly a street car sees the track once in awhile. my goal is around 500awhp. i was going to do 8.5:1 forged pistons and rods with a remanufactured crank from slow boy racing... is this a good route? im having the block bored out and decked and tested first. then with the 1 g head have it ported with a 1mm oversized valve job and take the 1 g intake manifold ported or get a sheet metal one. i know theeres other little things i need to like the 1g cas, 6 bolt flywheel, head gasket, other gaskets, seals, oil pump, timing belt, etc... just trying to add it all up and go the right route building it... any suggestions would help.

I am finishing up my 2.4 6bolt built up. I also want about same goals as you.You can go 2.3 eagle makes a nice pretty cheap crank would have bought it but it just came out and my engine was done.I got my block from hyundai sonata.
I used all the best parts aside from using a stock polished crank. As you said you need things like 6 bolt oil pan and pickup tube.6 bolt timing cover,6 bolt tensioner, idler, tensioner pulley, tensioner arm.you have to decide on 1g head or 2g and 1g intake or 2g.I went all 1g head,1g jm fab intake and 1g ported out tb.You need cas I got the black top one but have dsmlink to correct for random misfire anyway.Got harness from rre for the cas.
You have to trim the 2g mount and trim the 6 bolt timing cover. Of course used a 6 bolt flywheel also. you move the 2g starter over,2g starter plate,2g air and all the front pulley and belts and power steering and alt off the 2g. I used a fluidampr balancer. Very nice piece.
I took out balance shafts.I ported oil pressure relief hole a bit to keep pressure a bit lower.
Not sure what else you want to know. I should have mine running shortly would have been a day or two ago but hurt my shoulder and arm so a couple more days to finish up.

I would not go with a 2.0 if its mostly a street car.The 2.0 even with a bit higher compression is still pretty doggy engine off boost. The 2.3 and 2.4 are much better off boost and you can shift lower and its easier on the tranny ,turbo will spool quicker too.

Can give an update of my setup shortly. I am hoping to see a bit over 400 whp at 20 or so psi and figure could run 24 to 25 so think that would be around 480 or so whp if use water/alco injection.
Would think can see 500 whp at 30psi or so.If do a bit better great. 400 whp should be lots in a street car anyway.
