Is building a 7 bolt really worthless?

I have heard of a number of unmodified 2Gs crankwalk without any modifications, personally if you have to go through all of these precautions to ensure that it doesnt walk. Do as UNDERDOG said. There is no need to rebuild a 7 bolt motor. Im not here to argue with anyone, as always, but 2 out of 10 people have rebuilt a 2G 7 bolt with success, then its still not worth it to me. how much are these dowel alignment kits?

When I see just about every professional machine shop rebuild one and it walks, then there isnt much hope for that motor. I simply wouldnt run it at all. Too risky.. again like I said before just my opinion :)

DSMers are so cheap... I love it. i would still build a 6 bolt the first time, and not have to worry about the 75% possibility that it will walk. :toobad:

I wouldn't consider myself cheap with all togeather over $27g's in mods into my car. If my engine goes which my mechanice says he'll cover that it is bulletproof I'll build a 46G4.

$27K wheew, yeah Ive had prolly $50K at one time or another tied up in 3 DSMs, of course that doesnt include the price of the car. ROFL

Are we idiots?

Nope it's passion. Idiot is me spending 12g's into my 2002 BMW M3 for 30 more hp and a better suspension. Once the volk wheels come I'll be even deeper.
