i already have a lot stuff with my evo 16g setup.
quick list:
dsmlink
880cc injectors
255hp fp (walbro)
afpr
FMIC
SBR custom EM
3" full exaust
wideband
stage 3 shep trany
act2600
and stock 7-bolt engine

I wanted to upgrade to this turbo and be able to full spool up at least 5500 rpms.

my dilema is should i go with 2.4(4g64) or 2.3l(stroker) ....
what cams to get, what IM.... e
and what else should i be considering to get to complete this gt35r setup.

Well, if you go 2.3 Stroker then you have more turbo options as you're turbo will spool faster regardless...A Built 2.0 would be fun also tho, b/c the 2.0 + some nice head/valve work and you will be able to rev in the 9k range and your powerband won't be nearly as small....What's the fun in a 500whp gsx if you can only feel it for 2k rpm's every gear...

FP3065/3052's seem to be pretty popular for people with 500whp goals, I would definitely check them out as an option...

BTW: Some other things that would help or you Need:
- 272 cams
- Sheetmetal Intake
- COP setup (?)

I'd go 2.4, 272's,dsmlink, water/meth injection, JMF SMIM and a 60trim or larger and your golden...plus fuel mods and other supporting etc

An ACT2600 will not be enough. I got the SBR 4000 clutch, fidanza flywheel for my 450whp project. Look into the 4000 it should do you well

i've got water injection already instal, i forgot to put that in.

Yep, the fp3065 would be one of my favorites, but the popularity of the gr35r kinda took

over... i believe they are the same turbos.

Do you know what "60 trim" means?

where i could get a 2.4l shortblock, or how hard it would be to build it myself.

The FP3065 and GT35R are not the same turbo. The 3065 is a GT30r which is just a tad bit smaller than the 35r.

Unless you are dead set on a stroker I would consider just doing a 2.0 or maybe the new 2.1 destroker. It may spool quicker with a 2.3 or 2.4, but it doesn't have as good of a powerband as the 2.0. That gt35r is really going to shine in those upper rpms. As far as spooling up quick, that is what antilag on your dsmlink is for man!

They use the same compressor wheel. The 3065 is basically a GT30R with a 35R compressor wheel and a different turbine housing. Saying that the 3065 is smaller can be misleading, because it depends on what part of the turbo you are talking about.

I think if your goal is 500 whp the gt35r is overkill. As stated before, the 3065 would be a great turbo for these goals and would be good for more than that even.

Things I'd go with...

1000cc injectors. If you're going to build a motor and throw a big turbo, 1000's will be good for about 600awhp. Even if you only wanna hit 500 (not sure if that's pump or race), its nice to have some extra room. The 880's will probably work but 1000's or even 1600's would be nice.

2.4 stroker would be cool but more than one 2.4 crank has broke from what I've seen. Can't go wrong with the proven 2.0 or even 2.1 setup.

FP 3065 or 3575 would be nice, although something with a divided T4 flange would ###### spool better. From my understanding (just from a fairly reliable source, not experience), a divided/street T4 spools much much better than the standard mitsu housing which would come on the FP turbo's.

The 3065 does not come with a "standard mitsu housing". They do share the same flange, but this turbine housing was built specifically to FP's specs to not choke the 3065's compressor side.

As far the engine choice, if this is a track monster I would back up GILZTSIAWD's advice of looking into a built 2.0 or a 2.1 destroker engine.

what is the deal with 2.1 destroker. pros and cons?

thanks

I'm sure you will hear different, but in my opinioin there are no real major advantages to it. I can go into detailed explanation if you want, but to make it simple: It cost a lot more for very little gain in most vehicles.

If you don't mind waiting until 5500 rpms for the turbo to spool then stick with the 2.0/GT35R combo, if you want a quicker spool and more low end/midrange torque go with a larger diplacement engine like the 2.3 stroker or a 2.4 hybrid.

Are you just looking for a 6 bolt block to build? If that's the case check the classifieds

check my mod-list..good enough for 400whp on pump gas, haven't tuned with race gas yet. should be close to 500 w/ race gas though

Lol, well it might be good enough for 400-500whp but we wouldn't know that since you don't specify what turbo you have.

i said at least 500whp, 550 would be desired number

If you are looking to build a 2.4, you are going to want a g4cs block. There are plenty of threads about this swap.

If you want 500hp You should do alot more research so you know what your getting into spending wise...Deffenitly go with a Forced performance turbo if anything...The mitsu housing make it much harder to produce any good power but if you do go gt35r then go t3.
As the other guys said go methonal injection S.M intake manifold you have to get bigger injectors 1000cc..dsmlink and who ever said the 2600 is not enough:notgood: there diffrent disk that come with it ie 4puck 6 puck anyway good luck and get your tranny built up.

i've got methanol injection already instaled, im still not sure about turbo that im gonna get... Why fp3065 would work better gt35r...

thanks

Both ball bearing, however the 35r is going to be built using a non-mitsu flange. The t3 or street t4 setup will spool better than the mitsu setup.

Meth injection is great, lots of excellent times ran on meth/pump but from my understanding it corrodes aluminum. Not saying anything is going to happen short term, or even long term for that matter, but it's something to consider.

which one would make more power, or which one will spool faster
