broken wastegate?

I'm wondering can the stock wastegate actuator just break all of a sudden? because just the other day i noticed that it wasnt doing its job, my 92 gsx was just infinate boosting when i give it full throttle.

If it is the wastegate thats broken is there any way to fix it or do i just have to get a new one, and if i have to get a new one where would i go to get an oem internal wastegate actuator? the junk yard?

I replaced my wastegate actuator with this http://linux.forcedperformance.net/...P&Product_Code=WAT28DSM17psi&Category_Code=SP

And it help with sustaining boost at mid to high rpm. It will not fit a 1g turbo.

However you get another Wg, possibly a new one.
Go to a local junk yard and source one. I would not pay more than $30.


Also make sure the vacuum lines are correctly connected to the wg, BC and vacuum source

Yes, check all the vacuum lines in the wastegate circuit first. Then you can test your WGA by applying 10-12 psi pressure to the nipple and see if it moves the arm or apply a vacuum and make sure it doesn't leak.
