O I have a 93 auto tsi wiht a 91 auto tranny tq and x case. and the origional starter wouldn't work so I went to autozone and got one for the 91 auto and it worked kinda at first but now it doesn't it makes a grinding noise and everysince the day I got it it would make a really loud noise at start up could it just be that i have the wrong starter or are the teeth bad on the fly

Did the orig. starter not bolt up, or did it not engage?? What do the teeth on the starter/flywheel look like now?? You could try testing the starter outside the car to see if the bendix is extending fully.

Good luck,
-Jesse

yea the origional starter didn't enguage. The starter I bought from autozone like a week ago the teeth on the starter are not in good shape there is a little grind on them making the teeth look a little dull

I really couldn't look at the flywheel but I mean its just like the starter isn't right or something the first day I put it in it worked but made terrible noises
