Hi,

So, my engine blew up! LOL. The block blew and I lost 1 piston(wiseco), 1 rod (pauter), one cranckshaft (eagle), im thinkin here, I still got 3 pistons and 3 rods that are good, no problem with them, can I mount them on a new block and just buy 1 set of piston and rod? Or should I buy 4 new pistons and 4 new rods?

Also 2 valves from the fourth cylinder were hit by the broken piston, should I buy 4 new valves or buy 16 new ones?

I just want to know if I can do something with the parts that I have.

Thks!

thats no fun:cry: been there done that. do u have any pictures of it that would be helpful. i would go with a new shortblock if i were you. you can proly salvage the pistions and rods maybe i dont think the crank will be good.

if you can find a guy with a similar build on craigslist or local to you id say try to replace the parts -- i wouldnt mix and match companies products personally but heck why not -- worse comes to worse youll have to buy new everything anyways so youll just have a lot of time into it

There's no need to buy all new parts. Just buy another piston, rod and crankshaft. Also, for the valves, if the other valves are fine, there's no need to purchase all new valves. Just replace the bent ones. While you have it apart and the head will be at the machine shop anyway to replace the valves and possibly the guides, have them check the other valves for proper seal. If they're fine, don't need to change them.

i agree, the other 3 rods/pistons and valves should be just fine, unless you skipped timing or something.. You can always double check by checking the clearances or if your not sure, take them to a machine shop to have checked.

thanks guys! ill have the people who prepared my engine check them, looking at them they said i could use them! but ill have them measured. the crank is gone, block aswell. ill post the pics of the blown engine later.

so ill just buy 1 wiseco, 1 pauter, 1 eagle crank, 1 7 bolt block and 4 ferrer valves!

Why not stay with a stock crank instead of an Eagle crank? I know the Eagle crank is Forged and all but the "Stock" crank is good for some serious power. You could get all the other stuff for the price of the crank. Also if the block is toast, why not just go for a 6-bolt? Just a thought:hmm: Good luck anyway.

thought about getting 6 bolt, but a friend told me id have to change my flywheel (fidanza) hidraulic tensioner and other things, is it true?

how much power does the oem crank support?

i want to run 600bhp, as i was running before. 2.5bar on the gt35r
