Ok...

I have a serious problem with my Talon. Its a 1991 Eagle Talon TSi, AWD.

It has a few mods, that I am not sure of them all but I will list the ones I know.

Walbro 255
Some after market fuel pressure regulator (I can take pics if really needed)
GM MAFT (3" I do belive) Translactor settings are all on '0'
O2 Dump (Not sure if this is the correct "term" for it, but on the O2 housing, there is a pipe that comes off the side, and just "dumps" air on the ground.
3" turbo back exhaust

The car runs like shit, literally. I am unable to get above 15 - 20 MPH, even at 100% throttle in 1st gear. My boost is also "spiking" to 30 PSI, but when this happens, car back fires and drops it back to around 10 - 12 PSI, then it starts to climb again.

Another thing, it sounds like I have a exhaust leak right on the front of the car. Almost as if the down pipe is not on, but I am pretty sure that it's the O2 dump housing is just always open. No matter what the car is doign, idle, WOT...ect..

I also have the pocketloggger, though I am not sure about all the parameters.

If anyone cares to help me out, please feel free to ask me any questions you want. I will get the information you need, asap.

Thanks,
LeRoy

Forgot to add that I also have a fuel gauge that reads 40 PSI when the car is running. Normal, low or high??

Ok update on the situation.

My cousin and I did some tuning to the car today. We got the fuel pressure down to around 28 PSI, which from what we read is what the stock injectors are supposed to be, or something. I'd have to ask him again, he's the one that knows this, not me.

We also advanced the timing ALOT, I mean atleast 1/2" turn to 3/4" turn. This has helped so much on the driving of the car. It actually has some acceleration now. I mean, I can get the car up to atleast 40 MPH, without much problem (Problem, yes will explain later.) I could probably go faster, but I had to keep it kinda slow in the city.

Now, when I accelerate quickly at first the car still kinda bogs down, but once it gets up to around 3500 - 4000 RPM, the boost starts to climb higher and the car accelerates much quicker, then I hit aboud 20 - 30 PSI, and I am guessing its fuel cut because the car just violently jerks, then takes off again. Though, I didn't think spiking to 30 PSI is a good thing, I only done it a few times. Just so my cousin could see.

Now, I have all seen all colors of smoke. Black, Blue and White at different times. Though, not as much black as I have seen light blue, almost white smoke.

I also forgot to mention a catch can has been installed on the car, and smoke sometimes comes pouring out of it. Another thing, I have noticed alot of oil build up on the left side (While facing car) of the head/valve cover, like kinda on top of the turbo and such. I think it is coming from the valve cover, because I do belive some of those bolts are stripped. Make any sense?

Another thing that still bothers me is the "exhaust leak" that I still hear. It's like the O2 dumb is NOT closing. Also, while we was getting the fuel pressure down, my cousin reved the engine to like 5k, and it would back fire very loudly, and fire would blow under the engine. (Comes out of the O2 hole) I don't mean a little fire, I mean I think we could have burned grass, if we was on grass and not gravel. LOL

Spiking to 30psi is definitely not good, and I am surprised you haven't melted any pistons. Do you have a boost controller? This could be a possible broken mbc.. check it out.

Well, I know this sounds kinda stupid. I lost the manual boost controller that was on the car. My friend, Kendall, thought that maybe the boost controller was messing up the O2 dumb and suggested we removed it and used the stock boost solenoid. So we took it off, and plugged the stock one back in. Well, during this process he or myself missplaced it and we are unable to find it. :(

Should I get another MBC, or will the boost solenoid be fine? How can I tell if it is broken? I took the one off my FWD Talon and put it in, and still nothing changed. We also changed the TPS, and still. Nothing changed.
