broken crankshaft?

i have this horrible noise coming from my engine.
ive done the spark plug check and noise never changed as i removed the wires.
so i dont believe its a knock. had couple mechanics listen and tell me it isnt a knock.
found my harmonic balancer was loose.
i tightend the 4 bolts and so there is no more play in it. it cut the noise down some but its still there...and its loud.
im thinking i could have a broken crankshaft? would it make a loud clunking noise?
any suggestions on what i should look at please let me kno.
the noise also increases with the rev of the engine.

Check your timing belt tensioner. If the little rod that comes out breaks or if the tensioner just looses pressure it can make a really loud smacking sound.

My 91 done it.

hope to god its not a rod knock.. sound like this? even though u say its not a knock.. maybe your just hearing severe lifter tick?

but once again that is not the noise im hearing.
my noise is more of a clunking like something is loose.
ill try to get a sould clip to let you hear it.
and like yesterday i started the car and for like 10 seconds the noise went away.
but then came back
