I was looking around after school today at different things on my car, and noticed that my BCS only had one vacuum hose going to it. I thought I remembered them having two, so I looked around and found the loose hose. Bad part is that the hose didn't just come off, the plastic nipple did. It's the hose that mounts perpendicular to the BCS. It looks like the previous owner or a mechanic accidentally knocked it off and then tried to glue it back on. The glue didn't last. The car still boosts, but I'm driving very conservatively right now until I can replace my 14 year old clutch. What will not having that hose connected do to my car?

What's on the other end of that loose hose? If it goes to a plastic T-fitting, then you're going to have trouble controlling boost because whatever pressure there is supposed to be going to the wastegate will be spewing out from that loose hose.

Well the stock boost guage is still working, and it still boosts up all the way. I don't have an aftermarket boost guage or any other mods yet. In this picture, it's the hose going downwards from the BCS, the one with the clamp. The nipple that that hose connects to on the BCS broke off.

Hit the hobby shop for some brass or aluminum tubing (or, a brass ballpoint-pen ink tube) and use it to JB Weld the nipple back on until you can get to NAPA for a new one, or a junkyard for a used one.

Once you get a boost gauge, you bypass it with an MBC. But it still has to be electrically connected to the car to keep from getting a CEL.

You mean slip a piece of tubing in there two hold the two pieces of the nipple together? With the JB Weld, of course. I just drove it a little while ago and couldn't notice any difference. What is that particular hose supposed to do? It reads pressure after the turbo in order to close the wastegate, correct?

i just unhooked the bcs and put a plastic t fitting it seems to work for me and boosts right where i want it at 15psi. Its sort of like a mbc just that you cant adjust it. I wouldnt advice trying this unless you have a boost gauge. I also messed around with bigger t fittings and vacuum hoses to see what it would do and one time i hit 20psi with one combination which isnt good. I have it where i want it now though different combination
