Bringing EVO's into Canada

I was told that there are certain EVO's that don't pass bumper laws in canada and your not allowed to import them. Is this true??Does anyone know the score?

From what I quickly read online it has to do with the bumper as already stated. Something about it only being rated for 3MPH and Canada requires 5MPH. Check out here for some more answers...

And, I have also seen plenty of cars in Windsor when ever I go over there with FMIC. But just because they have custom ones doesn't necessarily mean they are legal. Same thing here in the states with a lot of car parts.

I've seen quite a few cars here that don't have catalytic converters that doesn't make them legal
But I got my source from the same site. When I had my ralliart on evom thats the reason why so many people bought the ralliart instead of the Evo.

They don't allow front mounted intecoolers in canada..That weird..I thought the laws were you could basically have anything..But I guess in the states theres also the"no modded exhuast laws" that everyone breaks and only certain people never get pulled over for it..

I think it has to do with safety....they think an intercooler will make you die if you rear end someone haha

Canada does have different front crash laws and bumper laws.

For example, the Evo VIII/IX was never sold in Canada because the air-air engine oil cooler was too far out front.

You can get around the laws pretty simple for used vehicles, depending on the province. Many, many people have front mount intercoolers that pass safety and there also several Evo's in Canada with the oil cooler still there.
