Hi,

I want to put these cams in my car, but I am kind of concerned about the installation. When I swapped my head, It seemed impossible to take the sensor off of the Intake FAR LEFT side of the camshaft, so I just moved that whole assembly over to my new head...

I've read that to install aftermarket CAMS in the 97-99, you have to machine some parts? is that true? If so, how and what? Does anybody have pictures of this??

Also, I have the supporting mods for these cams, but I am wondering if the performance gains from these cams are going to be noticable. I've got a custom EVOIII 18G 15degree clipped TD05 turbine wheel GT PORTED, and GT HEAVILY PORTED Exhaust manifold, 3 inch exhaust system Catylitic converter deleted, 650cc injectors, FMIC, Keydiver stage 3 chip/eprom ecu, AFC Neo, Wideband o2 meter, ARP headstuds, etc.

Are cams worth the upgrade?

Thanks so much!

Mark

Yes, more than 100% worth the upgrade. In my opinion, cams are immensely integral to running a good solid setup. The 272's will provide you with much greater power curves, yet leave you with the continued ability to drive it daily without requiring too much adjustment on your behalf. If you can afford to do it, go for it! :thumb:

My BC cams are sitting in a box wrapped up but they are supposed to be tapped already for 97-99 style CAS. You should be good to go.

THANKS FOR ALL THE HELP GUYS!! I'm going for it! BUT I have to wait ### they are on backorder.. :( shux.. oh well...

I hope I feel the power increase. I will wait for the cams before I dyno. Does tuning get pretty off when installing these cams? I hope my keydiver chip can keep it locked on to 11:1 ratio...

Mark

They should be straight up, 0 deg when installing them. So you ship will probly do fine.

P.S. im assuming you have a eprom ecu?

sup Chad, Cool, thanks for the reply, I'll make sure they are installed like stock ones at 0 degrees top dead center. I wish I bought cams when I did my head swap, but I thought my cams were already regrinds, ### they are stamped "J" on the intake and "G" on the exhaust side with numbers stamped on the ends, I posted pics of them but nobody replied. My idle is actually a little lumpy too, I'm not too sure because it came with the car.

Yes I do have an Eprom ecu socketed and chipped by Keydiver dsmchips.com

Thanks!
