Brand new Exedy Clutch purchased off Ebay (for my 92 N/T)
Had it put it in by some local clutch shop
It was noisy from day 1
as I put more miles on the clutch, it got more quiet
Now My tranny fluid is leaking, my clutch is really noisy (sounds squeaky when it is first engaged), and I lost 4th gear!
When I put it into 4th and release the clutch it grinds.

It is leaking from where the tranny is attached to the engine.

The shop I got it put in at is going to take a look at it tomorrow

I think they did not bolt on the tranny right

What do you think is going on?
Forgot to resurface flywheel?
Throwout bearing?

I want to have a good Idea of what is going on before I send it back in to these ass holes tomorrow
Thanks!

Well, fourth gear grinding usually means the input shaft bearings are shot. This is backed up by the leak from the front of the trans. My friend, you may have to be looking for a trans or a rebuild. Remember, these f5m22 transmissions don't need a reason to do that. Usually it means they were ran low on lubricant. I see this all the time.
One of the guys that works for me has a 93 nt and his is fixin to go. Making noise and hard to get into 3rd and 4th. I first thought that perhaps someone put the disc in backward, but since you were using it that almost had to be ruled out. It is hard to imagine someone doing that, but you never know.

My money is on the trans input shaft. By the way, when this goes, it usually takes out the counter gear cluster also. If this is true of what you find, let us know by posting.

Good Luck

Yes, i took it back to the mechanic, he said that it is the input shaft bearing.
and now 3rd is going out on me also
I am trying franticly to get my TSI AWD running before this car leaves me stranded somewhere
