OK I just want to start this off by saying that I really have researched this alot and have tried almost everything. I replaced the master cylinder and brake booster. They are brand new OEM. The brakes have been bled many times. The lines are stainless and I have checked them really good for any leaks and none were found.

I have Web race cams so vacuum at idle is around 8 and never really gets above 16 which I have been told is the necessary amount for the booster to work. I bought an expensive vacuum pump and now the booster has vacuum and still no brakes. Really didnt get any better at all with the vacuum pump.

I have AEM so I was wondering if the ABS could be bad and the light not come on. Maybe that is controlled by stock computer??? They definitely dont feel like they clamp down hard enough for the ABS to kick in anyway.

It just feels like the brakes never really get any bite at all the just kinda grip at about 70% if that. It feels like the pedal bottoms out before the brakes really clamp down.

Please this has really been a headache for me so only reply if you feel you can help me in any way or have some good advice for me to try so that I can diagnose this and get my car back on the road. Thank You.

How much brake pedal free play is there? Sounds to me like the brake master pushrod is not correctly adjusted. Possibly the rotors are warped causing them to hit the cylinder pistons and push them back into the bore, causing excess pedal travel.

I just took my car to a shop and the guy checked over everything and said that my pads were just junk to replace them. I had OEM mitsu pads at my house so I went home and switched the pads. Same thing is happenning. It wasnt the pads.

Have you checked the slider pin and lock guide? They could be partially seized, completely seized or bent as is all too common for DSM style brakes.

Some brake shops don't check the motion of those pins, or not closely enough.

When I did the non abs conversion to my 2g I had no brakes after bleeding them 4 times with a mighty vac. The only solution I found was to gravity bleed them and then they worked better than they ever had.
