Does anyone have experience with diamondstar motorsports braided oil returns? I received a 45 degree fitting and a 180 degree fitting that screws onto the adapters (which bolt to the oil pan and the bottom of the turbo) The problem though is that the 45 degree fitting goes out further then the bottom of the turbo and causes the tubing to kink when I force it into the general place. I can't actually get it to screw to the adapter. I'll attempt to take some pictures if this doesn't make sense. When I had the factory line on it was also a bi*** to get into place and was leaking (why I switched). Is this normally a pain in the ass to put on or am I doing something wrong? Thanks

I dont have a clue without pictures.

But a temporary solution: use some vacuum tubing a size that will fit of coarse, and some worm clamps and use that. The return line is not pressurised so you dont have to worry about the line breaking.

I just went ahead and put on my other tube because I didn't think their were any cracks. I was just extra careful and wire brushed both surfaces, used rtv on both sides of the gasket, and used locktite on the bolts. I'll be damned if any oil gets through their now. I sent diamondstart perfomance an email to see what they say but their was seriously no way that thing was gonna work. I'll see what they say but I would advice against getting it.

yea it sounds like they might have sent you the wrong one. most braided oil returns are straight fittings and you just let the hose bend to get the curve

whoops I need to correct what I said, I said 180 degree fitting not knowing their was actually another 180 degree fitting. I just was trying to describe that it goes staight, so its indeed a straight fitting. I did receive an email with some tips on installing that I'll put up for anyone that searches for this in the future.

One other tip, with stainless braided hose, it will not bend enough to
bolt the flanges to the pan first. You need to loosly thread both an
fittings to the flanges first, then bolt the flanges to the turbo and
pan, then final tighten the -10 hose ends onto the flanges

If I find that the stock drain install fails me, I'll attempt this until then hope this helps anybody trying this and wanting to throw it against the wall.

On a related note, did you have any trouble connecting the braided line to the fittings? I can't seem to get that little bastard into its hole. I took off the electrical tape on the braided line and the threads frayed out making it impossible. Just wondering if there's a trick to it?

I realize this is very late but just came across it and figured I would post advice for others with this problem. If you need to get the braided line into the fittings use some type of lubricant. I was actually using a little bit of dish soap I actually think they make lube specifically for this but have no idea what its called. As far as the braided oil return, that was a huge and costly mistake. I dont recommend anyone buying one of these, the only way it would fit, was to put a kink in the return Stick with the 1G return, buy new gaskets, use a wire brush and a dremel to clean the old surfaces, put RTV on both sides of the gaskets and tighten tight (dont forget your crush washers!)
