i'm running 18psi and on the stock 1g bov not crushed, and when i give my car gas (not building boost) and let the gas go while driving the bov whistles loud like (pppeee) noise. It never made this noise before, it's a loud whistle, but if i build boost it makes the wsshooo noise which is normal!

Its normal. You don't have to be making boost for the BOV to open. It will crack open under any high vacuum situation and make that noise. My Type RS makes a continuous peeee noise on deceleration with the throttle closed, everyone thinks its my brakes squeeling.

i've never heard of this before.....maybe the bov is opening without any boost and air is being sucked in instead of rushing out?????

ya i think i would know if it was the brakes!! I said it never did the noise before and it just started doing it recently

Maybe you just started noticing it recently. I didn't hear mine do it until the weather was warm enough for me to have the windows down and one day I decided to ride without music on (OMG), that's when I first heard it. Now I notice it all the time, I never noticed it before that.

I would ask if you recently installed hard pipes, but you're an N/T w/turbo so I'm guessing its always been hard pipes.

I have that same noise too, I noticed it after I installed my uicp and gm maf in blow-thru. So after I started venting I could definitely hear it on decel, sounds just like a long bird chirp or something, or high-pitched like a brake squel. :thumb:
